My Story
Art is an inheritance of mine from my family. My great grandma would make watercolor paintings on cards for every one of our birthdays. She was a prolific artist, I grew up with her paintings all around, and her pottery. I was also surrounded by paintings of an artist in my church's small group by the name of Malcolm Hughes. I would lay on the floor on my back and stare up at paintings for long stretches of time as a kid.
I was drawing from a young age, and began painting in high school. I went into graphic design and thankfully had art classes along with it. Graphic design has given me an understanding of how to bring the visions of others to life. But I've always had to create art in my spare time.
After moving to OKC and adopting digital art, the world opened up to me. I started trying to capture the beauty I saw in the moment.
I will always make art. I hope you enjoy seeing what I'm up to.
Process
I work with a variety of mediums, but my primary focus is on acrylic painting. I start by creating thumbnail sketches for color, lighting and composition, and then move on to the final piece.
